For $900 I might buy it on principle. I had an 88 Fox Wagon that I adored. Put 215k miles on it and I couldn’t kill it if I tried.

It was the most eager little thing.. slightly terrifying at speed but if you squinted just
right it looked great

I thought the wagon looked fantastic. I loved the form of the two-door wagon. I got mine right before I went to grad school, and I was able to put my entire life in the back of that thing. Where is that 2D selling? I think the only thing that kept mine from turning in a pile of rust was living in TX. However, the heat did warp the AC ducts and it didn’t blow very well.

Yea this was a good era for VW. These were made in Brazil, huh?
Never seen a wagon fox before, ttyymmnn. interesting.

Kamloops BC - so that’s like $3.50USD.
I had mine in northern BC at -40c.. It ran as happy as ever. With winter tires it was pretty good at cruising around in the snow.
I replaced wheel bearings, alternator, radiator, temp sensors, added a passenger mirror, did brakes.. Learned a lot wrenching on that thing.
It ended up driving off into the sunset with an ex.. I miss that car.
lol.

Yes, born in Brazil, and mine likely went back there after I donated it to a woman’s shelter when I got rid of it (replaced with an 01 Golf). Thanks for the links. I’ll check those out a bit later. Not sure I would call it a shooting brake, but whatever. I loved mine.

Does the Fox chase the Rabbit around? Or are they both playing different courses of Golf?

Ha, quite a few times I had to teach mechanics that it was not in fact an Audi Fox..
1.8L 90hp, Longitudinal.. just like the Rabbit, but with a twist..

VWs are great... when they work. Right now mine works, so I want another.
